The Kansas Gastronomist popped a squat on his barstool at The Leprechaun’s Lab in Wichita, Kansas.
“The usual TKG?” the bartender asked.
“Yeah, yeah, yeah, Emily. You know what I want.” TKG barked.
“Alright. One Chili Beer coming right up.”
TKG enjoyed the Chili Beer. It was because the beer was a light bodied lager with a sweet honey biscuit character and a light zesty hop character, with a mild chili aroma backed by an assertive chili heat. Or at least that is what this narrator speculates is the reason he enjoyed it so much.
As TKG sipped on his beer he saw a contraption with pretzels. He wondered if those were available to patrons like himself. Before he was able to ask about the pretzel situation, the bartender fetched him some of the goods.
BREWERY NOTES: The Leprechaun’s Lab has some great brew. I think people kind of forget about them because of the location. It is located at 630 E. Douglas Ave. — basically a little east of St. Francis on Douglas. They have trivia on Wednesday nights and just recently began having Sally Sue’s NY Deli food truck there during trivia. If you want to know what time trivia begins — check their page. I don’t know. It’s not my job to tell you everything.
