“Tell me more, tell me more, did ya get very far?” My voice was like the voice of an archangel.
“Tell me more, tell me more, like does he have a car, uh huh?” The female lead sang back.
It was the summer of 1978 and me and Olivia were the talk of the town — well really the country. The summer nights were passing along quick as lightning and would be over before we knew it.
As I took a bite of my Birria Ramen from Tacos tj 664 east the memories of that summer came flashing back. Probably because of the dish. In the summer of 1978 the “beach dish” was a warm bowl of Birria ramen with extra jalapeño.
I really enjoyed the Birria Ramen as an appetizer. But I was just as impressed with Carne Asada Fries as my entree. I didn’t think the carne asada was too tough, which I feel like is the most common problem I see. I finished my meal with some dessert — two chicken tacos. On Tuesdays you could get two for $2.85 and they are excellent.
Tacos tj 664 has two locations in Wichita,Kansas. 1014 N. West St. on the west side of town and 3526 N. Rock Rd. on the east side of town.
