I wonder what it was like to move to the Wichita,Kansas area in 1952? There couldn’t have been a ton of Italian Americans in the area at the time.

Maybe they wanted to give some Italian food to the community? Maybe they just enjoyed cooking? I don’t know.

But in 1958 Angelo and his wife, Ann, cooked and delivered pizzas out of their house until 1959 when they opened up a brick-and-mortar. There were several locations in Wichita that Angelo and Ann Fasciano housed their restaurant Angelo’s Italian Restaurant Wichita over the years. That is until 2006. Angelo passed away the year before.

In 2015 Angelo and Ann’s son Jack Fasciano brought Angelo’s back to the city of Wichita. And I’m DAMN glad he did. In my opinion the food slaps. It is combustion 🕯️. It is all the things. I have enjoyed every single meal I have had there.

This time I ordered the Gabagool Pizza, the Cheese Manicotti and the Italian Style Potatoes. I don’t need to give you a play by play of each of the dishes. That’s a waste of my time. It is hella amazing. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — Angelo’s is my top five for pizzas in Wichita.

If you haven’t been to Angelo’s in a while (or ever) get on back there. And make sure you tell them that TKG sent you. If you do, you’ll get that blank stare that will make your evening.

Angelo’s is located at 5900 E. Central Ave. just west of Woodlawn St.
