I was quite impressed with Los Compadres Mexican Grill in Wichita,Kansas. I expected “Tex-Mex” (which I love). But that’s not exactly what I got.
I ordered a Barbacoa Taco and Carnitas Taco. I was told that they make both in-house, as well as the blue corn tortillas. The barbacoa was good. The carnitas? FREAKIN’ incredible. So good. No salsa is needed. Just a dang good taco.
I also ordered the Carne Asada Burrito which came with carne asada, rice, beans and veggies. I thought the carne asada was average. I didn’t like the burrito because the vegetables were too tough and not cooked enough. So, I don’t recommend it. But I did like the guacamole that I smothered on the burrito.
All in all, I was really impressed with the Barbacoa and Carnitas. And specifically the carnitas. You should DEFINITELY go to Los Compadres and order some carnitas on the fresh and homemade blue corn tortilla. It’s amazing. Also, I have heard the buffet on the weekends is fabulous. I don’t know that though.
Los Compadres is located in northeast Wichita just north of 29th St. & N. Webb Rd. over by Menards.
