21-months since I’d been to Maple Street Pizza Company in west Wichita, Kansas at W. Maple St. & S. 119th St.
Not because of a conscious decision. Just a lot of places to go in a lot of cities. I kind of forgot how good it is. But since Maple Street participated in Kansas Food Bank’s ICT Restaurant Week, and I committed to go to each and every restaurant, I was OBLIGATED to go.
Glad I did.
I was joined for lunch by a loser that I am friends with. Well, I guess not a friend. More like an acquaintance.
Live Local ordered the How I Met Your Mother pizza. It came with red sauce, mozzarella, pepperoni, mushrooms, meatballs and parm cheese. I ordered the Nicky Santoro which had red sauce, mozzarella, ricotta, capicola, pepperoni, salami, parmesan cheese, balsamic and basil. We shared like two kids in Kindergarten. I liked both a lot. But my favorite was the Nicky Santoro pizza.
I was very high on the appetizer that I ordered. The Meatballs. Sounds basic, but I have ordered a ton of meatball dishes over the years that I have blogged about and I don’t think I’ve ever seen a presentation like this. With all the cheeses and the bread. You definitely should check the photos of this dish out.
