I did a poll recently and asked you — when do you think food bloggers/influencers should disclose that they received a free meal or compensation 
in exchange for a review.
Of the 460 votes — 70% (325 votes) of you said “yes, disclose if you got free food, and disclose if you got paid.” That’s a CLEAR majority although the sample size might be small.
However, 24% of you (113 votes) said “I don’t care whether you were paid or got a free meal…no need to disclose.”
Additionally, 3% of you (18 votes) said “tell me if you get paid, but not if you got free food.” And finally, a few of you (4 votes) said “tell me when you get free food, but not when you get .”
So, those are the numbers. You can draw your own conclusions.
Personally, I have never been paid. I’ve received some free meals over the years (around 1% of the meals I’ve posted about) and diligently disclose it when I do. So I am within the parameters of what a super majority of you think.
But it is also interesting to me the amount of people that say “I don’t care.” Frankly that was a bit suprising to me. Again, it is a minority. But it is more than I expected.
