Back in October I posted about my visit to Yum Mi Express located in Northeast Wichita at 6254 E. 37th St. N. (technically it’s Bel Aire, but Bel Aire doesn’t really exist).
My review back then was not stellar and the owner, Kenny, gave this response on my review (see first photo).
When I get responses like this — receptive comments — from a business owner that tells me a lot about the restaurant. A lot. And I make sure to go back.
I had a wonderful experience and really enjoyed my meal. No. He didn’t know I came in. I don’t do that. I had a bunch of family in town and you can see we did a HUGE order. I ordered the Special Lo Mein and let me tell you, this is a must. Someone else in my group ordered the Beef Lo Mein. I cannot speak more positively about the Lo Mein here.
But what I loved about my EXPERIENCE was interacting with Kenny. First, it was freezing (this was this past weekend with the storms) and he helped take the food to my car. Second, I had one of the folks in my group that had made an online order and Kenny had questions about alterations and made multiple phone calls to him to try and verify questions. And finally, when Yum Mi had run out of one item that was ordered, he simply substituted for something else (what I requested) and know it was a slightly more expensive item.
I highly encourage you to check out Kenny’s Yum Mi Express. It’s run by a great owner. And make sure to grab some Lo Mein.
