Some of you might remember that back in November 2024 I gave a less than favorable review of Hawaiian Bros Island Grill in Wichita,Kansas over near 13th St. & Greenwich. Pardon the French, but I got a lot of bullhonkey for it. But some agreed. Whatever. I don’t care.
At that time, I said I was less than impressed with the Huli Huli Chicken Wrap and the Luau Pig entree.
I decided to go back recently and give it another shot.
I ordered the Kilauea Chicken (Sweet and Spicy grilled chicken with a ‘lava hot kick’) this time based on many of your recommendations. And the ones that recommended this dish really came through. I thought it was excellent! Plenty of flavor and not dry. Definitely recommend it. I also went ahead and ordered the Huli Huli Chicken Wrap again because Doug wanted try it. He really liked it, but it is just not for me.
But the point is that I definitely loved the Kilauea Chicken and it is worth getting.
But be warned – the Mac & Cheese that comes on the side is served cold.
