He talked about “the good” the Bourbon Salute fundraiser did for him and his family of five. Like, when the federal government had its last shutdown and he needed money for his family to pay for basic necessities like groceries and toilet paper. And because of this fundraiser that helps to support the 1st Sergeant’s Council at McConnell Air Force Base, he was able to get those things and other support.
I attended the 8th Annual Bourbon Salute at Charles Koch Arena in Wichita and it was a great time. So many good bourbons. So much good food, including pulled pork, brisket and sausages from Station 8 BBQ. Many, many other shout outs. Too many to give, but I’ll try. Truly Amazing Catering for the sides. River City Cigar for the awesome cigars hand-rolled right there (I got one). AGH CPAs & Advisors for co-sponsoring the event and giving me a ticket. DJ Carbon for being an awesome DJ and supporting the cause. McCurdy Real Estate & Auction for conducting a great auction. And so many others.
What an awesome cause, but real talk — it pisses me off that I have to listen to an airman in our Air Force discuss not getting a paycheck because our sissy ass, no-back-bone politicians (my words, not his or anyone else’s) would rather play “I’m the best Democrat” or “I’m the best Republican” instead of just getting shit done. Sorry that I’m not sorry.
