I don’t think I could have picked a worse time to check out Stearman Field Bar & Grill in Benton Kansas.
For those not in the know — Stearman is located on the Benton Municipal Airport grounds and you can check out planes coming and going and going and coming, like so. It’s pretty cool!
I happened to be there when there was some newfangled bikey race of some kind. It was PACKED. It was quite a sight to behold watching all of these staff members hustling and running around. I mean seriously they must have a good management team. It was like “all hands on deck.”
Anyway, consequently my food took a lot longer than I’m sure it normally would have. But I was totally patient because, again it was unbelievably busy. I was vacillating between a steak of some kind or a burger and I went with the burger because I figured it would be better on a day like that. I really enjoyed my burger and was happy that it came out the way it was supposed to with all of the bustle I’m sure the kitchen had.
