There’s nothing that annoys me more than when I’m trying to show someone my favorite song and they won’t just shut up long enough to hear the best part. You know…getting to when the chorus really picks up and then that person turns around and asks someone an unimportant, unrelated question?
The other day I’m at Solly & Jude’s in Wichita, Kansas (400 S. Emporia Ave.) with Doug. He ordered the Grilled Cheese with Garlic Parmesan Tots and I ordered the Traditional Reuben with Truffle Oil Tots. While I’m trying to show Doug my favorite song (Love Story by Taylor Swift) he literally yells at the server “Want to hear a funny joke?!?!?” It was right when Taylor got to the chorus “You’ll be the prince and I’ll be the princess. It’s a love story…”
ERRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!
FOOD NOTES: It wouldn’t be a stretch to say that this Reuben is in my top five in Wichita. As far as the Grilled Cheese, Doug liked it but that’s all I know. Tots? Get the Garlic Parmesan (those are the tots with the sauce), but not the Truffle Oil. Garlic Parm you’ll chow down, but the Truffle Oil surprisingly doesn’t have a lot of flavor. Actually suprised me because you can really smell the truffle, but it does not add much to the tot.
SIDE NOTE: Solly & Jude’s recently released some new “loaded tot” options and Wichita By E.B. picked some up and brought them to a podcast he and Fert The Foodie were recording that I was present for. The first loaded tot was Pastrami Poutin Tots and the other was the Spicy Pizza Tots. The pizza was pretty good. The Pastrami Poutin WAS INCREDIBLE.
