“Are you The Kansas Gastronomist?” the server at Vora Restaurant European (located near Hillside and Douglas in Wichita, Kansas) asked.
True story. It took me by surprise. I don’t introduce my alter ego to too many people. Very few. Though I guess with time, it is what it is. But my modus operandi is to stay under the radar.
It turned out that Kayla, my server, had a couple Christmas’ ago made some awesome Christmas tree ornaments for me from photos of my fur babies. I gave her a shout-out back then and come full circle there we were (there’s snapshot of my post in the photos so you can see the awesome work she does).
Anyway, on to the food.
I hadn’t been to Vora in quite a long time (16-months to be exact) and the reason was because it wasn’t all that good to me. But it was time to give it another try and at least for me this time, I really enjoyed my dinner. I went with the NY Strip — 12 oz grilled center cut strip with fingerling potatoes and vegetables. I also split the Burrata and the Calamari as appetizers with Doug and Doug’s wife (my sister). I’m not going to show you what they got because I don’t care.
All in all I thoroughly enjoyed my meal, the appetizers and the service. Kayla was a fantastic server and it was great to run into her again!

P.S. I love the complimentary Limoncello that you get after dinner. It’s tasteful and…tasteful.
EDIT: photo of the Saganaki appetizer. Not the Burrata. I did get the burrito too — but no photographic evidence to prove it.
