Doug (TKG’s brother-in-law) stared down at the odometer in his AMC Pacer. Five miles til’ empty…good thing he made it…on time.

“Well look what the cat drug in. It’s Doug!” Darla shouted in an intense way.

Darla was hired a year ago to take TKG down. But she really sucked at her job.

“Darn it, Darla. I’m here for one thing and one thing only. The Quiche that I’ve heard The Meeting House in Sedgwick, Kansas makes. I’ve heard it’s just delightful. And to talk to you about The Kansas Gastronomist’s latest movements!!! I guess that’s two things. But darn it, you get my point!!!” Doug said matter-of-factly.

After Doug ordered and his order was fulfilled and delivered, he sat there in ecstasy as each morsel that hit his lip and tongue dissolved into absolute bliss. He even let out one of those “whoops” that is typically only heard from grade schoolers doing the parachute thing in the gym where you create the dome and run under it.

RESTAURANT NOTES: The Meeting House was started in 2016 and it seems like a spot that is beloved by the community. Which is always cool. The quich, which was a sausage quiche, is made fresh and homemade — kind of like what mama used to make. That is of course only if your mama both made quiche and made it all at home. If that’s not the case then it is the exact opposite of what mama used to make.
