Back on February 25th Everyday by Elderslie was having a BOGO sale for a lot of their frozen/prepared foods. For those that don’t know — Everyday by Elderslie is a small store in Wichita, Kansas at Bradley Fair owned by the owners of Elderslie Farm.
I picked up the Potato Soup, Beef Chili, Mac & Cheese, Beef Stew, Chicken Currey and Tomato Bisque. I wanted to get through all of them and then do my post. So here you go. In order of my eating over a period of a few weeks:
1. POTATO SOUP — I wasn’t a fan of the Potato Soup. It definitely had a lot of flavor. But it had very little potato. It was really soupy. The photo speaks for itself. There was a lot of cream in the soup and if you’re into cream/milk, you’ll definitely like this soup. Don’t get me wrong — it just was not my thing.
2. BEEF CHILI — The Beef Chili had black beans, tomato, beef, onions, peppers, shallot, garlic, paprika, cayenne, chili powder and salt/peper. It was frankly AMAZING. I really enjoyed it. If this chili would have been on my Chili Tour it would have been in the top few.
3. MAC & CHEESE — Th Mac & Cheese had macaroni, butter, cheese, milk/cream and Elderslie cheeses. It was SUPER creamy. I really enjoyed it. Doug’s wife (my sister), whom is a “Mac snob,” also really enjoyed it. I can’t think of anything I would change. It was a simple and cheesy Mac, man.
4. BEEF STEW — The Beef Stew had beef, beef base, onion, garlic, redwine, carrots, green beans, potatoes, pepper worcestershire, chalupa, rosemary, thyme, anchopepper base, oregano, paprika, cumin, celery seed, and bay leaves. This was probably my favorite item — it just had so much going on!
5. CHICKEN CURRY — The Chicken Curry had carrots, potatoes, chicken, garlic, celery, onion, coconut milk and curry paste. I was told that I needed to pour this over rice (of course) and so I obliged. It was an excellent curry and a good meal.
6. TOMATO BISQUE — The Tomato Bisque had tomatoes, cream, garbe shallots and herbs. I was least excited about this dish, hence the reason I tried it last. But it was excellent.
Overall, I think the Beef Stew was my favorite. It just had so much flavor. But the Chicken Curry and Beef Chili did too. All of the items were tasty and had good and fresh ingredients. I probably would not get the Potato Soup again (I’m not huge potato soup fan in the first place), but would have liked more potato. The potato game was quite weak. But that’s the only negative. A few of the items were “wow,” and a couple were like “dang gurl.”

P.S. Don’t forget — Elderslie does farm to table and so I’m assuming (rightly so I hope) that most of the ingredients used are locally sourced.
