Doug opened the door to Lava & Tonic in Wichita, Kansas in the Douglas Design District and winced. The adjustment from the brightness of the “outside” and the darkness of the “inside” took a moment. But he appreciated it. What he needed to do was required to be done under the cloak of darkness. And he appreciated the fact that the door to Lava & Tonic was non-descript. He also wasn’t sure if that was the word to use.
“I’ll take an Old Fashioned. Because I’m old fashioned!!!” Doug exclaimed to the server as he slapped his knee and guffawed. The server didn’t seem impressed.
Doug opened up his laptop and began to write his letter. It was a letter that would take down TKG. It would take some time. But he had a plan. And it would involve a lot of people — a lot of people. But in the end, Doug would prevail.
BAR NOTES: Lava & Tonic is a cool spot. No sign. You just have to know where to go. 1716 E. Douglas Ave. Kind of like a speakeasy where there’s no indication it exists. Put it on your list if you haven’t been.
