Twerp (Doug’s son) walked up to the register at Crispy Donuts Dodge City. “Ummm. I’ll take the Sausage Burrito and also the Egg, Bacon and Cheese Croissant!! Like tubular!!!” Twerp shouted at the cashier as he slammed his little weak fist on the counter.
Twerp was a lot like his father, Doug. Dumb and stupid. Few redeeming qualities. It made no sense that he was in Dodge City at Crispy Donuts or that he was at a restaurant with “Donuts” in the name, but was not actually ordering donuts.
But here we are.
“So listen….” Twerp said to the cashier as she handed him the bag with the reheated crossaint and burrito. “If you ever hear from The Kansas Gastronomist be sure and let my dad….er….Doug know.”
FOOD NOTES: The breakfast burrito was okay. It’s reheated and was fine, but nothing I would go there for. Also — the salsa game here was so disappointing. There are SO MANY places in Dodge City that they could get some authentic salsa from, but the salsa was that picante sauce. I did think the croissant was better than the burrito, but it did not blow me away. Both were mid.
RESTAURANT NOTES: There are Crispy Donuts in Wichita, Garden City and Dodge City. This place is known for the donuts, which I didn’t review. That’s because others have already done so, but I saw very few reviews on the hot food menu.
