I really love Sam and Nancy’s. I’ve posted about it before. On the weekends, they have a little pop up at Old Town Farm & Art Market in Old Town Wichita.
I swung by and hoped to get the Bierock, but unfortunately they were out. But I did get the Chicago Dog. The Dog was pretty good! I am not a huge Chicago Dog fan, admittedly — just think that there’s too much going on. But it was a lot like the Chicago Dog you’d get at Portillo’s in Chicago, which I kind of consider to be one of the “standard bearers” for “dogs.” In fact I think it included all the same ingredients down to the bun. With one caveat and I think that it would make a difference — I thought Sam and Nancy’s dog needed to include more mustard. Course maybe I just got a dog without as much mustard.
I’ve heard the bierocks there are amazing. Guess that’s why the stand was out. So I need to go back and try one.
By the way, Sam and Nancy’s has a great buffet during the week that I’ve checked out. Located at 151 N. Main St. Definitely worth visiting.
