Coldwater, Kansas has around 700 residents. That’s cool. That’s fine. But what’s crazy is that it houses an authentic Australian bakery. I mean…right? Where else is there in Kansas that has an Aussie (I think that’s okay to say) running a shop that you can get authentic Australian food in? That’s not a trick question. If someone has a response I’ll bet it’s one or two.
Ozzie Bakes is owned and run by Sue Roberts whom is from Adelaide, Australia. It’s an Australian-style bakery on Main Street and has multiple lunch options including Meat Pies, sandwiches and wraps, a “special of the day” and other baked items.
I get tired of hearing the term “gems” and “hole in the wall.” People use it for everything. But seriously…who the heck has been here? Does one of the only bakeries in Kansas that’s run by an Australian gal in a town of 700 people qualify as “hole in wall” for ya?
When I was there I ordered up the Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich, which came with chips and also the Tuscan Chicken Meat Pie. Both were well worth getting and I MOST DEFINITELY want to go back.
Additionally, if you go to Sue’s Facebook page (I provided the dang link/tag) you can order items to be shipped to you.
I’m like NBC — the more you know.
