Needed to grab some Backwoods over the lunch break the other day. They’re a lifesaver when I am babysitting.
Stopped by the U-Mart that’s located near 17th St. and Hillside in Wichita, Kansas right next to Kirby’s Beer Store that used to be a laundromat. The owner, who used to teach at Wichita State University, opened up the U-Mart around 1 1/2 yrs ago and around 5-months ago started selling Gyros, Falafel Wraps and Hummus Wraps. Now I’d like to take credit for finding this spot, but Fert The Foodie is the one who clued me in. Nah…I’m still gonna take the credit.
The owner is a really nice guy, all smiles, and I really enjoyed my Gyro. For $4.99 + tax it comes with a drink. I don’t know how the McDonald’s 50-yards away competes. More expensive for crummier food.
By the way…when’s the last time you saw an RC Colaa? I didn’t even know that was still a thing. I’m not a soda gastronomist and actually didn’t even drink the cola. Just thought it’d look cool for the photo. I know it does. Just say “Thank you TKG. Again, you’re right.”
