Blood Orchards — sounds cool don’t it? “Blood” is the last name of Jeff and Jessica. They own Blood Orchards, which was “open for business” in 1871 when Jeff’s great-great gramps (Gilman Blood) got the patent on a couple quarters of ground (you ignorant peeps won’t know what I’m talking about and you that do, do). Blood Orchard is located at 6346 S Broadway in Wichita, but basically you take Broadway south until you get close to Haysville. There’s a lot going on there. You can get peaches from July to September, they have a monthly market called reBorn Boutique and now, they have Blood Orchard Brewing Co. , which brews its own beer and seltzers with ingredients from the Orchard (they have peach trees, cherry trees, apple trees and honey from bees). The brewery is open Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
