I had the opportunity to check out Historic Adobe Museum/ Grant County Museum in Ulysses, Kansas AND attend a fundraiser put on by Furever Friends of Grant County, KS. Furever Friends is an animal rescue/humane society in Grant County that I have been fortunate to get to know over the years.

For those of you idiots that don’t know — Ulysses, Kansas is in Grant County. Yeah, they must have some weird infatuation with Ulysses S. Grant. Anyway.

The museum has so much history. Me personally? I love the photos from the Dust Bowl. Not because I love the Dust Bowl. But man…those people were strong. Unlike my weakling self.

Speaking of weaklings…I’m also a weakling for dogs that need a Furever home. Furever Friends had a fundraiser called “Spay-Ghetti No Meatballs.” They had live music. And of course, spaghetti…hold the (meat) balls. Honestly the food exceeded my expectations. The sauce had a lot of flavor. But who cares? It’s about the dogs.

So, to my final point. The fourth photo on this post is a photo of a dog named Nova. Nova has been at the Ulysses Animal Shelter and cared for by the Animal Control Officer (whom I have heard is awesome) along with Furever Friends. For nearly TWO YEARS.

So glad I got to eat (meat) ball-less spagetti, check out the museum, see some live music and hear about Nova.

I don’t care one iota if you share this post. I don’t. But I do care if Nova gets adopted and gets a chance to be on a couch versus a concrete floor. Contact Furever Friends OR message me if you’re interested in being adopted by Nova. Yeah. I said it that way.
