“Shhhh. Shhh. The Kansas Gastronomist is coming.”
Both of their traps went completely shut.
“Hey Wichita By E.B. and Lets.Eat.ICT!!! How’s it going?!?!? Fancy seeing you here at A & J Poke Ramen, conveniently located in west Wichita, Kansas at 550 N. Ridge Rd.! ” TKG shouted with jubilation as he bound in.
As TKG approached Wichita By E.B. and Lets.Eat.ICT, he did not see the near silent communication occurring between the two. He was too concerned with making sure that they didn’t find out that he had been stalking them for days, just so he could join them for lunch. And when he’d heard that A & J Poke Ramen was finally opening, and he saw Wichita By E.B. leave his house toward Ridge Rd., he knew he’d done what he set out to do.
“So, what cha guys order? Lol. I’m gonna get the ‘Build Your Own Ramen’ with Wavy Ramen noodles, Chicken, Beef, a spice level of Medium, Shoyu broth, Scallion, Bean Sprout and Bamboo. Of course it already comes with Seaweed and a Boiled Egg! Lol.” TKG exclaimed. Of course he didn’t actually laugh out loud. He just said it. No one thought it was cute.
“Ummm. Yeah…TKG. I guess you can grab a chair with us.” Lets.Eat.ICT said to TKG as Wichita By E.B. struggled to suppress a look of disdain. TKG had already seated himself.
RESTAURANT NOTES: I was really impressed with the ramen. I am not sure I would use words like “incredible,” “amazing” or whatever. Those words are used too much and probably by me too much. But I was impressed with the broth and thought the noodles were cooked perfectly. I got my ramen in 5-minutes or so and for a fast casual restaurant, I thought it was very good.
I’d absolutely go back for the ramen. I also ordered the Pork Dumplings, but got them steamed instead of fried. I get tired of fried stuff on occasion. I thought they were good, but honestly do not think I can give it a fair review since it was lukewarm before I was able to try them (my fault).
Just an FYI – through the rest of October you can get 10% off your food if you tell them “Hey…you…TKG sent me!!!” You have to say it very aggressively and with lots of exclamation marks.
