“Gosh darn it The Kansas Gastronomist, you’re so damn feckless!!” Doug’s Mother-In-Law (TKG’s mom) hollered as TKG took another bite of his Kobe Burger from Bella Luna Cafe in Wichita,Kansas. The burger was a 1/2 lb of Kobe beef with sautéed onions and mushrooms, provolone and mayo on a pretzel bun.
“You know. You need to be more like Doug.” Doug’s Mother-in-law continued as she opened up the styrofoam container holding her Tortilla Chicken Wrap with fries. The TCW included grilled chicken, bacon, pico, spinach and artichoke spread, and pepper-jack in a garlic herb tortilla. “The good thing about Doug is that he has lots of feck. Very feckfull indeed. Many people say it, so it must be true!!!”
TKG had had enough, but he always kept his cool under pressure and this time was no exception.
“You know what mom!! I am so full of feck!!” TKG screamed from on top of the table. “And I don’t give a feck whether you believe me or not!!!” TKG went on as he karate-chopped the table in half.
RESTAURANT/FOOD NOTES: Bella Luna is located in Wichita at Bradley Fair on the east side and on N. Maize Rd between 21st & 29th on the west side. I had heard about the burger at Bella Luna many times over the years, but it is hard for me to justify getting a burger at a Mediterranean restaurant. But it was EXCELLENT. The Tortilla Chicken Wrap is one of my favorites in town and the pasta salad is so yummy.
