In 1937, Bob Cobb, the owner of a restaurant in Hollywood, created the Cobb Salad. It was nighttime, the kitchen was closed, and Bob and his buddy Sid, whom owned the Chinese Theatre, were hungry. So, Bob threw together some ingredients that happened to be around, including some bacon, for him and his buddy.

The next day, Sid asked Bob to make it again. And the Bob Cobb Salad was born.

Many of you told me to check out the Bob Cobb Salad at Bricktown Brewery – Wichita, KS – N. Rock Road. And I finally did so. This Bob Cobb Salad comes with grilled chicken, avocado, bleu cheese crumbles, tomato, sweet peppered bacon, egg, and Brown Derby vinaigrette. I thought it was a great Bob Cobb Salad. It was $14.95, which might be a little high, but at the same time, the salad was huge and included a significant grilled chicken breast. I thought the vinaigrette really worked well.

Where else should I check out the Bob Cobb Salad at? I’ve reviewed the Bob Cobbs at The Hill, Public at the Brickyard and The Kitchen…and now Bricktown.

P.S. Doug’s Mother-in-Law (my mom) enjoyed the Bleu Ribbon Burger and fries. Fries were transported in the container and held up just fine. So, for those of you going after me the last time I got the world’s worst fries from Bricktown and blamed me — how you like them apples? IYKYK.
