“So they let him into the Church of the Magdalen in Wichita,Kansas for the annual Knights of Columbus – Church of the Magdalen Council 10408 Fish Fry this Friday night!?!??? I can’t believe it.” Doug’s Mother-in-Law (TKG’s mom) roared as she threw her nearly complete menthol out her car window.
The massive and sporadic gusts of wind put it out quickly.
“Yeah. And like I was saying.” Doug continued as he gazed at a billboard along Kellogg Dr. “I saw on Fert The Foodie’s post last night that TKG joined the Fertster there. And rumor has it that TKG got a standing ovation as he took his first bite of the clam chowder, while simultaneously throwing a piece of the cornbread, a spoonful of the gumbo, a bite of the egg rolls and an entire haddock into his gullet!! All at once!!!!!!”
Both Doug and Doug’s Mother-in-Law wailed. Like the wails of 10,000 kitty cats.
CHURCH/FOOD NOTES: I’m not sure how long this annual event has been going on. Enjoyed checking it out with the Fertster though. And when we went through the line approximately 10-minutes after it opened, we were told that 311 people had already passed through. Last year they had around 600+ so I bet it was even more this year. I remember my early years living in Wisconsin and having fish Friday every Friday. Those were the days.
