The only thing I can’t stand more than children is people smiling.
Which is something that I observed when I was at Hog Wild Pit Bar-B-Q in Wichita, Kansas. Clearly people around me were enjoying their food.
But I didn’t. Too harsh?
Wichita has too many awesome barbecue restaurants for me to not be honest. I got the two meat dinner of beef brisket and turkey with Mac and cheese and beans as my side. Gertie (my GF, but she says she’s not my GF) got the beef brisket sandwich with fries.
None of it was that good. I’ve had great barbecue and this ain’t it. The beef brisket was dry as heck. The beans had little flavor. The Mac was uninspiring and too sticky. I didn’t eat half my food, which is fine. The fries, which were only okay, were probably the most I ate of the food.
I get it. It’s “fast-food” barbecue. But I can stand in line for the same length of time at a NUMBER of local barbecue restaurants and get way better barbecue. So, I don’t want to hear it’s “fast food.” The food is just as fast at those other places.
