I have NEVER blogged about HomeGrown before.
Have I been? Yes. But the 10X or so I had been was before I ever had a blog. That’s kind of crazy to me. It’s an awesome spot. It really is. But if you want me to be honest — they are always so busy and get a lot of love and so it’s just one of those things where I put my focus on other places that might not be as busy.
But in pursuing my mission to personally thank each restaurant in Wichita, Kansas that participated in Kansas Food Bank’s ICT Restaurant Week, I was “forced” to go. And I’m glad I did.
I ordered the “Yoder Meats’loaf & Grits,” which is HomeGrown’s breakfast meatloaf that comes with breakfast sausage, bacon, and ground beef from Yoder Meats. I love that they collaborate with another local spot (Yoder Meats). The meatloaf is on a bed of cheesy grits and has an egg (I got an over medium egg). If you look at my photos, you’ll see an empty plate. That’s because it was damn good.
