Hopping Gnome Brewing Company in Wichita, Kansas has really done something awesome.
They started a brewery. Yes. But they created a spot that really didn’t exist in Wichita until they did it. A spot you could go and sit and eat popcorn, drink a beer and play Cards Against Humanity. That’s not to take away from the other AWESOME breweries that existed at the time or have since become part of the scene. I know all of them. Trust.
And they have continued to make progress/expand.
I recently talked to someone the other day that didn’t know about their expansion. Hopping Gnome is located near Douglas & Hydraulic in the Douglas Design District. The taproom used to be right there on Douglas (still available for private parties, I believe) but on the north side/back side) is the current taproom with more…room. It really is a nice area.
