“No Ramen. No Life.”

I had just defeated my Wonton Chicken Ramen and all of a sudden this message appeared in the bottom of my bowl.

I had to figure out what it meant. Now, my Gastobrain processes information at lightning speed to the outside eye. But really it just slows things down while the rest of the world stands still. Sort of like when Neo slows the bullet down and just leans back. I guess some could (and have) say I’m a modern day Neo.

“No Ramen. No Life. No Ramen. No Life. No Ramen. No Life.” It was a complicated equation. Almost impossible for mere mortals like you to understand. But it was proving difficult for even me to decipher.

So I just gave up.

FOOD NOTES: This was my third trip to JINYA Ramen Bar – Downtown Wichita. My first trip was during soft opening so it doesn’t count (but was tasty). My second trip it was tasty, but the service was really slow. My third (this) trip?

Happy to report I had excellent service and really enjoyed my Wonton Chicken Ramen. What I love about wonton ramen generally is it combines two of my favorite things. I could eat both separately and those two dishes together are great. Also, I really like Jinya’s broth, which is simmered for 20-hours.

Tell ‘em TKG sent you. You’ll be glad you did when you see their blank stare not understanding what the heck you’re talking about. Will be good table conversation.
