“So, what is your greatest strength and weakness?” she asked The Kansas Gastronomist.
TKG was sitting there during an interview for a job he didn’t much care that he got. He sighed heavily as he put out his menthol and took a bite of his Meatball Sandwich from Jumbo’s Beef & Brew in Wichita, Kansas. The Meatball Sandwich consisted of Beef & Pork Meatballs, Marinara and Parmesan on Turano Bread. TKG thought it would be a simple/non-messy thing that he could casually chomp on during the interview.
“Well….” TKG began. “What’s ironic is that my greatest strengh is my greatest weakness. I care too much…” TKG said as he took another bite of the Meatball Sandwich with one hand, grabbed the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich with his other hand and took a bite. Then he grabbed a fork and took a nibble of the Loaded Fries with chili, smoked cheddar wiz, sour cream and scallions on it.
One of the reasons that TKG was lackadaisical about the whole ordeal is he understood that this was a stupid interview question. Plus he had no desire to be Chief Brain Surgeon of John Hopkins.
RESTAURANT NOTES: Jumbo’s is located at 3750 N. Woodlawn Blvd., Wichita, KS 67220. I loved my Meatball Sandwich, but I’m a sucker for a meatball. Comes with tons of marinara, which is important. I also love the Loaded Fries. Some of my favorite in ICT. The Buffalo Chicken Sandwich is decent — not my personal favorite, but that’s because I don’t really love coleslaw and I wouldn’t have it on the sandwich.
