After an hour I checked out of the imperial Motel and wouldn’t you know…I spotted the sign for Kelly’s Family Diner. It’s located at 2131 S. Broadway Ave. in Wichita, Kansas.
Now for those that don’t know — this is family diner. It is well regarded for the chicken fried steak and burgers. But I wanted to go with the Roast Beef open faced sandwich. It’s slow roasted and comes with mashed potatoes and brown gravy. It’s real tasty. It also comes with a soup or salad. The options for soup when I went were Vegetable Beef or Ham and Bean. I went with the Vegetable Beef based on the recommendation of the server (who did a ‘bang up’ job).
I feel like this place has good food and real reasonable prices. Definitely worth checking out if you haven’t been or going if it’s been awhile.
