Well that didn’t take long, did it?

Levantine Kitchen opened on February 24th. And today, a mere thirty-nine days later, I walk into this awesome Mediterranean fast-casual restaurant and there is NOBODY. Seriously, I walked in those doors at 11:58am and walked out those doors at 1:08pm and only one other customer walked in the door (a to-go order).

What irritates me about the situation is that right next door, the Panera is jam-packed. Per the usual. How many of the folks in that Panera have ever set foot in this new restaurant that is operated and run by a local dude that also owns another restaurant in Wichita Kansas (Albero Bistro) and is super active in the community? Not a lot I suspect.

At Levantine Kitchen, you pick your vessal to get some Mediterranean food — bowl, wrap or salad. I went with the Gyro Wrap. It was excellent. The person I ate with got the Beet Wrap and honestly exclaimed “Oh this is good!” I also got some fries partly so I could try all the sauces. My favorite sauces were the Tahini sauce and the Garlic sauce.

Levantine Kitchen is located at 3337 E. Central Ave. in Wichita, Kansas just east of the Hillside & Central intersection next to Panera. They are open 7-days per week from 11am – 9pm.
