Every once in a while a small business catches my eye because I specifically observe it promoting other small businesses. And you know what? It’s not that the business is saying, “Check out what we are doing! Look at me!!!” It’s the opposite — they are just “doin’ it.”
One of those is a follower of mine called Main Street Floral in Minneola, Kansas. I’ve had it on my list to check out for some time because I had observed how much they were not about “self-promotion,” but promotion of others.
I stopped into what turned out to be the local grocery store in Minneola. By the way, kudos to the owners of Hometown Market (the grocery store) and the town. Not every small community has such a great spot to take care of its residents. But anyway, it turned out that Main Street Floral has a “spot” in the grocery store with a bunch of nice arrangements.
I picked up this arrangement, which I think was called “Christmas.” Not sure. But it looked, and smells beautiful.
I didn’t meet the owner. I just swung by and picked up this arrangement. But I did my part — I’m giving a shout-out to an awesome florist that gives shout-outs to so many others. Main Street Floral, keep doing what you’re doing. Some of us notice.
