The ONLY food hall in Kansas OUTSIDE OF the Kansas City area (Lenexa and Overland Park) is not in Wichita, Topeka, Manhattan or Salina.

It’s in Garden City, Kansas. And the grand opening of Main Street Food and Brew Hall was just yesterday (and maybe happening all this week).

This place is legit. It has five food vendors and a brewery. Haitian food, Filipino food, Mexican food, Mennonite food and “health oriented” food.

I stopped by Mana’s Haitian Caribbean Food LLC and ordered Legumes, which is a vegetable stew with crab and meat with a side of rice and bean puree. I added a side of potato salad. I also swung by the Filipino Food Flavors (no socials that I could find) and ordered the Grilled Pork Belly combo. Finally, I ordered the Jalapeño Popper Cheeseburger from Norma’s (no socials that I could find).

The other two food kiosks are Wagon Wheel Cafe and Bakery (they close at 5pm so I wasn’t able to check it out) and Roots Juice Co. & Wellness Center (couldn’t tag them for some reason).

When I was there I was told that Garden City Downtown Vision had visited many food halls throughout the Midwest, and spoke extensively with the city of Lenexa (about their food hall) in preparing to open Main Street Food and Brew Hall. Kudos to all the players involved in getting this done.

By the way, I enjoyed all of the food I ordered. The food kiosks were on top of their game.

I really want to see this food hall succeed, thrive and sustain. Good luck, Garden City. You got an awesome thing going. Now, can you keep it?
