Sometimes when you’re a celebrity food blogger like The Kansas Gastronomist, one may choose to stay silent.

And other times, particularly when it involves vicious and unscrupulous rumors, one is forced to set the record straight.

By now, most of you have seen that I attended a cooking class put on by Katharine Elder of Elderslie Farm at Mark Arts in Wichita. The whole Wichita Dinner Table was present (Wichita By E.B., Annette Lawless, DJ Carbon, Live Local and myself) along with some other bloggers including Wichi.Taco, Bottomless Pit ICT, @ninas.munchies (Instagram), @lisa.lifestyle.ict (Instagram) and @3bitez (Instagram) and friends.

The menu was Focaccia, Lamb Meatballs, Spinach Salad and Chocolate Ganache.

I was cooking like nobody has ever seen before. I remember at one point someone said “Can you believe that guy?” while pointing at me. Kind of like “Wow, that guy is amazing” ya know. Lots of smiling and laughing by all.

Fast forward a few days and the unscrupulous rumors start coming out:

1. The Kansas Gastronomist wasn’t paying attention and didn’t do a good job at cheffing.

2. The Kansas Gastronomist’s meatballs did not have enough flavor and Live Local’s balls were tasty.

3. The only thing that The Kansas Gastronomist can cook is a Stouffer’s frozen dinner.

4. The Kansas Gastronomist kept distracting Annette Lawless from paying attention to the teacher.

5. @3bitez only paired up with The Kansas Gastronomist because nobody else wanted to.

NO, NO, NO, NO and NO. All false narratives! My food was the best food and so much better than any of those other amateurs. If anything Annette Lawless kept trying to distract me!!!

By the way — you can check out all the cooking classes and bourbon tastings, etc. on the Mark Arts website. I’ll put a link in the comments.
