The Kansas Gastronomist walked into Meddys in Wichita, Kansas and searched the menu. He knew what he liked. But wanted to try something different.
His eyes focused on the Meddy’s Main Plate — choice of protein with roasted veggies with herb garnish and choice of a side. He loved the garlicky potatoes and made a note to order that as his side. And decided to get the Beef Shawarma as his protein as well.
The Main Plate came with a garish of some kind — almost a cilantro salad.
He took the food to-go. Because it’s okay to do that and he sometimes enjoyed not sitting around a bunch of people looking at him. He was famous after all.
As he took his first bite of the salad he screamed out explicatives. Not because of anger, but jubilation. The cilantro salad that came with his meal was absolutely phenomenal and he didn’t know what else to do. And all of it was great, and he felt good. Content. And happy. It was a heckuva good meal.
