I really dislike traditions, but for the third year in a row I went to Napoli Italian Eatery in Wichita for my Easter meal. So, I guess it is tradition at this point, but I’m cool with it because I really enjoy Napoli Italian Eatery — located at 7718 E. 37th St. N. in Northeastern Wichita.

I was sad that this year Napoli did not have the Italian buffet. I have done that the last two years on Easter. I get it — it’s a lot of work. But hopefully they will do it again next year! There aren’t a ton of Italian buffets out there after all.

I went with a couple of specials they had today. First, the Lamb Loin with this pesto sauce on the lamb on a bed of risotto with some pea/mint puree along the edge with asparagus. Second, a pasta linguine with chicken. There was a lemon sauce on the linguine, which was excellent. And Gertie (my part-time girlfriend), Doug and Doug’s Wife (my sister) split the Arancini (third food photo) and the Bruschetta Board (fourth food photo). By the way, the Arancini has this cacio y pepe sauce. It’s really unique — not sure if there is anywhere else in Wichita that has a Arancini with this type of sauce and it’s super savory and flavorful.

Hope all you weirdos had a good Easter meal, whatever it might have been.
