Arnulfo García and his wife are the owners of the newly opened Old Town Burrito. They were previously partners at Bocattoep, but no longer.
I met Arnulfo close to when he first opened Bocatto. He seriously busts his butt, and always has a smile on his face. He immigrated to the U.S. originally to Chicago in 1990. He began working at Michael Jordan’s Steak House in 1993 as a busboy and after a couple of months moved to the kitchen where he worked until 2000. Just grinding. He eventually ended up in Wichita, Kansas, working at Chester’s Chophouse & Wine Bar. In 2022 he opened up Bocattoep located in Old Town Wichita near the (former) Warren Theatre.
And now he has this gem going.
I was very happy with my burrito. It was the Burrito Suizo with Pork and Red Chili sauce. I thought it was tasty, filling and had a great presentation. Doug (my brother-in-law) ordered the Quesabirria and said it was very tasty (I didn’t try it). And then Arnulfo brought out (on the house) this Birria Eggroll. He was thinking of adding it to the menu and I told him to. He might have already done so, as it has been several weeks since I made my visit.
Definitely go and check this spot out. It’s located where the former Lotus Leaf was at 251 N. Washington Ave. in Old Town Wichita.
