I’ll admit it. I have a soft spot in my lower stomach…er my heart for Quintons Bar & Grill in Wichita, Kansas at Central & Rock. Look at the photo on the right (second photo). That’s the OG Quintons. Walked up those steep stairs many of nights.
I’ve now been to Quintons in Wichita two or three times. I’ve enjoyed all the sandwiches I’ve ordered. This time I got the Nelson Philly — comes with beef, onions, peppers, Swiss and Mayo. Also got chips, fries and the Chili Cheese Nachos.
I do have one complaint — not about the food.
I do think that for too long this spot has had two different names and I’m not a fan of it. People get confused. Just take the “Crutch” name off (if you can) and keep the brunch food. And if you can’t — go full on Quintons. Just forget Crutch.
It was an idea and it didn’t work. Too many people are like “wait what restaurant is that again….”
Make this place the KU bar in Wichita, serve the sandwiches that were in Lawrence and do the thing.
But what the heck do I know? Nothing according to basically every human I’ve ever met
