Every year I watch Planes, Trains and Automobiles, the night before Thanksgiving. I have done this for probably 80 years. I love this movie.
Is it funny? Yes.
But that’s not the main reason I watch it. I love the ultimate meaning of the movie, which culminates at the end. Dale (John Candy) meets Neal (Steve Martin) and ultimately Neal invites Dale into his home for Thanksgiving.
