Man…Nicky Winton was one of the GOATS (Greatest of all Time).
Just watched One Life — about his life and helping 600+ children (mostly Jewish children, but any children there in need) escape Czechoslovakia to London before Hitler invaded Poland.
The dude was a stockbroker in London in the 1930s. And in 1938/39 when he was 30-years old he did this extraordinary thing.
My favorite quote. “Ordinary people wouldn’t stand for this if they actually knew what was happening…I’m an ordinary person.”
What an awesome human.
