I have to say…Garden City, Kansas has some great pho and I honestly wouldn’t have expected it. You’d think I wouldn’t be surprised by now.
I swung by Saigon’s Corner in Garden City located at 406 E. Kansas Ave. and ordered the Beef Pho with rare beef steak, brisket and beef meatballs. I even forced the person I was with to try Pho for the first time and said person was a real fan.
For me what makes a good pho is the broth. If the broth is flavorful enough that you don’t need to add siracha then…it’s a good pho. Not sure how long they brew their broth or their process. But it’s clearly done right. I tip my hat to Saigon’s Corner.
If you live in SW Kansas and make it to Garden…grab a bowl of pho from Saigon’s Corner. And tell em’ TKG sent you. They’ll look at you and say “What the heck did you say?”
