The worst decision I made at Wichita Taco Fest yesterday was I only got three tacos. I know. Shut up. Blame it on Lets.Eat.ICT, Wichi.Taco, @nina’s munchies (Instagram), Surviving with Mel (Instagram) and ICT Broke Girls forcing me to take shots.
The best decision? Ordering a Chicharrón Taco from San Cruditas Wichita Ks (San Cruditas). OMG. This is one of the best tacos I have had in awhile. I did not judge yesterday, so I am not sure who won best taco. But this gets The Kansas Gastronomist #1 taco for sure. So much flavor. Best chicharrones I have had in years.
Also, a shout out to Taqueria El Bikiny (second taco in the photos). I ordered the Pastor taco and the meat was cooked so well, the sauces were great and the tortilla thrown on the grill was a nice and perfect touch. And to Taqueria San Luis — the carnitas (third taco in the photos) were super tasty and I was impressed.
Another successful Wichita Taco Fest in the books.
