“Now The Kansas Gastronomist…are you sure your eyes aren’t bigger than your stomach?”

Honestly, she might be one of the most annoying human beings on this planet. And I didn’t give a crap what day it was.

We were sitting there at Siena Tuscan Steakhouse, conveniently located in Wichita, Kansas in the Ambassador Hotel Wichita, located on the southeast corner of Douglas & Broadway.

“You know what Doug’s mother-in-law! First of all…no. My eyes are not bigger than my stomach…see!!” I screeched as I peeled my shirt off and jumped on the table to show her that she was wrong.

“And second of all, I’ll have four plates if I want to. It’s a BUFFET! Don’t you understand that?!?! It’s ALL TKG CAN EAT!” I said quietly as I jumped back to my chair and took a bite of my prime rib.

I swear. This woman would be the death of me.

RESTAURANT NOTES: The Brunch Buffet at Siena for Mother’s Day was a pretty big hit to some and to others it was okay. Personally I thought it was a step above a few of the other choices in town. I thought the Prime Rib was definitely better than some other unnamed places. Also, I liked the option of being able to order a freshly made omelet from your table. They will give you a sheet to mark what proteins, cheeses and vegetables you want. The potatoes that came with the omelet were also good — crispy. My favorite item on the buffet itself was probably the Quiche which appeared to have a pesto baked into it. Also, though it was not my thing, one of the losers I was with, whose palette I respect, really liked the Porchetta and was told the Chef is considering putting it on the dinner menu.
