The Kansas Gastronomist meandered into Station 8 BBQ in Wichita, Kansas in a particularly gruntled mood. After all, life was good. He’d won some major professional body building competitions recently…all while blogging nearly 174 hours per week.
He was content and happy.
As he sat down and took his first bite of the Chopped Brisket Mashed Potato Bowl (redskin mashed poatoes topped with chopped brisket, greenbeans, carrots, and smothered in a red wine beef gravy) he did a double take. It was fantastic and he knew instantly he would order it again. Apparantly gravy really tied everything together. For sure, for sure.
As our hero continued to eat he did not notice someone else dining in Station 8 BBQ that he should have. She went by the name Bottomless Pit ICT. And while there was no known link connecting her to Doug (TKG’s Brother-in-Law) there also had been no evidence to date to show she was NOT linked to the idiot.
Had TKG noticed her, he would have become disgruntled.
THE END.
Restaurant Notes: In addition to the bowl, I also ordered the Mac & Cheese (the pasta/mac is provided by FioRito Ristorante). It’s always so good. And I also got some brisket, a rib and some burnt ends ON THE HOUSE from Station 8. And no — I couldn’t eat all of it, though I wanted to. I definitely took some leftovers home and did finish it.
Station 8 BBQ is open Wednesday – Saturday from 11am-2pm and is conveniently located just east of N. Washington and E. Third St. at 1100 E. Third St. N, Wichita, KS 67214.
