I’d heard that Tallgrass Golf Club in Wichita, Kansas had “re-started” its kitchen and that there was a legit chef working there named Chef Nicia. If memory serves me right she is from New Orleans. I’d also heard that the some of the recent brunch buffets (I think it was Easter Brunch) had been really good.

I decided to check out a few of the items on the daily menu. I tried out the Quesadilla, Boneless Wings, Southwest Egg Rolls, Truffle Parmesan Fries, Southwest Protein Bowl, Cheeseburger Sliders and Mushroom Soup. Some items I ate there and some items I took “to-go.”

I really liked the Southwest Egg Rolls and Cheeseburger Sliders. The sliders were fairly small. Actually, I thought it was all pretty good and the only item I wouldn’t order again was the Mushroom Soup. It didn’t have much flavor. Which was completely the opposite of the egg rolls (for example), which exploded with flavor. Everything else…pretty, pretty, pretty good.

I REALLY wanted to check out the Irish Stew, but it was unavailable. Darn it. Next time.

They also have breakfast on the menu, which I plan to check out. And they have a Mother’s Day buffet coming up. I don’t know if I’ll make that, but I definitely plan to check out a brunch buffet there when they have it and works for my schedule.
