One of the best gosh darn breakfasts I have had in awhile was at The Kitchen Table-Fredonia, in Fredonia, Kansas. Fredonia is approximately 90-miles east of Wichita, Kansas on Hwy. 400.

This is a Mennonite-owned restaurant and everything is homemade. They have breakfast, lunch and dinner. On Saturdays they have a breakfast buffet.

I ordered the “Biscuit & Gravy Deluxe.” Now, something you have to know — I’m not normally a B&G gastronomist. But they insisted and so I acquiesced. And daaaannnngg. The hashbrowns as the base. The over easy/over-medium egg on the top. It was so good. It was not only a pretty display.

The service was also top notch.

I definitely want to make it back there sometime. Highly recommend. It’s on a must-try list if you believe in those things.

And yeah, everytime I stop in these small town (which is often) restaurants I get a lot of stares. But I just assume it’s because I look so cool. I don’t know.
