The first time I went to The Old Spaghetti Factory located at The Waterfront, Wichita in 2019 I had an abhorrent experience. Literally all of it was bad. The food and the service. All of it. I waited an hour for a draft beer. Food was subpar at best.

I recently went back for my second visit. And my, it was vastly different.

First of all, I really enjoyed my meal. What did I get? Glad you asked. I got the Spinach and Cheese Ravioli, the Chicken Piccata, the Minestrone soup and a side of the Meatballs (photos in that order).

Second of all, I went to the bar and Dan was my server and he was super helpful. It was literally polar opposite of my first experience where I basically got no service. Shout out to Dan.

I’m not saying this place has the best Italian food. It doesn’t. But after this experience I would definitely be down to go again. It’s kind of a cool spot that has a water view and also a cool “train-car” seating area (see photos).

If I were going to describe this place as it is or should be — it’s a chain Italian food restaurant that has decent or good food, with a good view of the river and seems to be very kid-friendly. But I don’t like kids so I don’t know. Before this visit I would have said “bad food and bad service” and neither was the case on this visit.
