By far…my favorite thing I have done in northwest Michigan is go to Leland (Michigan) to Fishtown Leland. OMG. It’s such a beautiful place. And I just love the fish and history. I lived around Lake Michigan when I was a young gastronomist and the fresh fish smell just — brought back many memories. When I was there I was able to check out the restaurant you have to go to — The Cove, Leland Michigan. Great view of the dam. And get some fish from Carlson’s Fishery. And grab a bottle of whiskey from Manitou & Co. Checked out several other spots in Leland.
