I think Wine Dive – Wichita might have been one of the first restaurants I went to in Wichita before I even resided here. Back when it was “Mike’s Wine Dive.” I can’t even remember how long ago the name changed. It’s been a minute.
Anyway, one thing I like about Wine Dive is their specials. Honestly, I rarely get the special at a restaurant. But when I saw that WD had a gumbo for their special with corn bread recently, I decided to swing by and pick some up. I really enjoyed it. It had a thick, rich sauce to it — more than some other gumbos. If you see it on their special list again, I definitely recommend it.
Wine Dive is located at 4714 E. Douglas Ave., which is basically the intersection of Douglas & Oliver. They also now have locations in Manhattan and Lawrence.
